THE PICKLE JAR SKILL CHALLENGE AT THE 2025 PORTAGE FOUDATION

OBJECT-

To get the pickle ball in, or as close as possible, to the pickle jar.

RULES-

· The Player may throw, roll, bounce, or hit the ball with a paddle.

· The Player must be behind the designated line at the time of release, and at all times until the ball stops moving.

· A “successful attempt” is any attempt which results in the ball coming to rest inside the pickle jar

· A “qualifying attempt” is any attempt which results in the ball coming to rest with its closet edge with in 5 inches of the pickle jar.

· Each ticket holder receives one free attempt.

· Additional attempts are two for $5, five for $10, or twelve for $20

· The prize pool will begin with $100 furnished by Wild Goats and will also include 50% of all attempt fees.

· Any player(s) with a successful attemptwill automatically share 1/2 of the prize pool as well as winning free dinner for 2 each month for the next 12 months from Wild Goats Café. 

· Should more than one player have a successful attempt, the ½ of the prize pool will be divided equally among them, and each will receive the free dinners from Wild Goats. 

· All players with successful or qualifying attempts will automatically advance to the finals.

· Should fewer than 10 players automatically qualify for the finals, then the players with the closet non-qualifying attempts will enter the finals until a total field of 10 is reached. 

· Should an individual player have more than one qualifying attempt, they will receive a bonus attempt in the finals for each additional qualifying attempt. Additionally the player with the next closet attempt will also compete in the final. The total number of competitors will be 10 or the number of qualifying players, whichever is greater. 

· Each player in the finals will get three attempts plus a bonus attempt for each additional qualifying attempt in the preliminaries.

· Players in the final will rotate turns in rounds. 

· Any player with a successful attempt will go first. followed by the player with the next closet unsuccesful attempt.

· If at anytime during the finals a player has a successful attempt, they will be deemed the champion and play will immediately end.

· Assuming no successful attempts play will continue in rounds of the same order. At the end of each round any player who used their final attempt in that round may elect buy-in to the next round for $20. Should they decline, they are finished and may not buy in any future rounds.

· After every players has used all of their attempts the player with the closet attempt will be deemed the champion and will win all remaining money in the prize pool and free dinner for 2 each month for the next 12 months from Wild Goats Café.

OBJECT

· To successfully serve the pickleball into the basket from each side.

Prelims

· Each ticket holder will get two free attempts from each side

· A “successful attempt” is any attempt which results in the ball remaining in the basket 

· To qualify for the finals a player must have a successful attempt from both sides.

· Additional attempts are two for $5, five for $10, or twelve for $20

· Additional attempts may be taken from either side. 

· Once a player has qualified for the finals, they may continue to participate, and will receive one bonus attempt from each side in the finals for every successful attempt above the two qualifying attempts

Finals

· Each qualifier will receive 5 attempts from each side during the finals, plus any bonus attempts they have earned.

· Finalists may purchase up to five bonus attempts for $20 a piece prior to the beginning of the finals

· The Champion is the finalist who has the most successful attempts in the finals

· In the event of a tie, all players who are tied will compete in sudden death rounds in which each remaining player has one attempt per round. 

· In sudden death rounds each remaining player will have the chance to play in that round

· In sudden death sides will rotate

· In sudden death any player who misses is eliminated that round. In the event all players miss that round, all players will advance to the next round.
